Title:
Train
Home team: Terrorists (plant c4)
Author: Chris Mair
Breakdown: 2 Bomb Sites and 3 Main Routes |
| |
Counter-Terrorists:
Prevent Terrorists from bombing the nuclear payloads on two trains. Team
members must defuse any bombs that threaten the payloads. |
| |
| Terrorists:
The Terrorist carrying the C4 must destroy one of the payloads.

| Tips
and Pointers |
Basics:
On de_train you are faced with a large terrain and many spots to hide and
wait. The numerous trains to hide under and on top of as well as ledges
and ramps can be a great way to gain cover but they can host an awaiting
enemy. Careful, the ladders can give you away to a near by enemy unless
you are silent. Hold duck as you climb the ladders to keep
your steps silent! |
| |
Rushing:
With some teamwork you can successfully rush to either of the bomb sites.
It is important to take notice that most of the routes that you will rush
as a terrorist might possibly put your team into a snipers long range line
of fire. If your rushes are getting crushed by a good long range shooter
then your team should consider getting a sniper of their
own or you could always walk and be sneaky. |
| |
Planting:
Once your team is at the bomb site it is of extreme importance
to search for hiding enemies as your bomber plants the bomb. A smart plan
of action is to check for enemies, take positions and then plant
the bomb. Once the bomb has been planted you can stay close to
the bomb or spread out and hide to await the enemy team. If you choose to
spread out then you must be careful not to get caught without your team. |
| |
| Walking:
With all the great camping spots and the intense layout of de_train you
will find that your walk key can be your best friend. On public servers
it is usually pretty hard to find a team that will walk so it is safe
to stick with the rush, but if you decide to break off from the team and
be sneaky you may be rewarded with a great personal score. When it's the
team score that matters, you may find that walking as an entire team can
get you where your headed without giving you away to the enemy players.
|
| |
Movement:
As I mentioned above, this map has lots of ups, downs, ramps, ladders
and ledges; this type of terrain makes it easy to evade enemy shots. It
is easy to move to the side out of the enemy's line of fire, but a more
advanced way of taking advantage of the terrain is to keep your head lower
or higher than the 'normal' head shot level. In a world where a man can
get shot in the leg 4 times and continue his mission I would definitely
recommend taking advantage of this. The numerous ways to stay higher or
lower than a bullet meant for your head will prove to be a life saver on
this level. |

Trainyard B

This tactic gives each player someone to watch their back and
a strategic line of fire.

Tactic
B2

This
tactic allows the majority of the team to guard the bomb and have sniper support.
Trainyard
A
There are 3 main routes that you enemy may take to trainyard A...
They may go through the CT spawn area, middle A or the hallway on the far left.
Tactic
A1
This tactic keeps the 3 main routes covered and gives backup
near the entrances to and from Trainyard B as well.
Tactic
A2
This tactic gives your team covering fire and great lines of fire and
manages
to keep all of your players out of the long hallway on the left (not shown).
The extra player can give cover where needed or go find the enemy.
CT
Positions
CTs
All Spread Out

This tactic can completely block the terrorists from making
it to either bomb site or
it can get your team overpowered one by one if your not careful. Be careful.
Terr0r's
CT Tactic

This one is a lot like the 'CTs
All Spread Out' tactic shown above.
As you can see it provides extra backup at the hallways at each end and
gets the player in the middle a bit closer to the enemies path.
