How to successfully rush!

I have noticed during my time spent playing counter-strike that most players do not rush correctly. Half the time you rush out to the bomb site and BoOM...you have NO backup. The other 49% of the time your team members are so scared or nervous that they all die. Of coarse there is that 1% of the time where everything works out perfectly, but wouldn't it be nice if that happened all the time? Maybe it cant happen every time, but if you read through this guide and put the ideas to use your ability to rush will increase drastically.

8 Ways to Improve your rush!
  1. DO NOT STOP! There is nothing more important than the act of not stopping! They don't call it a rush because you stop, and if you stop in front then you hold the whole team back. This is bad.
  2. Be Confident. Only the strong survive...right? Confidence is a mental strength that will help your aim, maneuverability, concentration and more!
  3. Use HE Grenades! Lets say you rush into a bomb site with 5 team members and lets say there are 5 enemies guarding it. All of your teams health added together should be 500 and all of the enemies health should add up to 500. If 3 of your 5 team members throw HE Grenades then it is likely that you enemies added up health will be down to 400-450. What's Stronger 500 or 450? Your team will most likely win the battle.
  4. Run Faster! If you run with a knife or a grenade you will be able to run at a higher speed. If you run at a higher speed you get there faster.
  5. Buy Faster! The buy menu is like a tortoise compared to buy aliases! Use aliases to buy your weapons! Download my config for some buy aliases but watch out...my config has built in charity.
  6. Use Suppressive Fire! Go in shooting! You may even want to start shooting before you get there to insure an intimidated enemy.
  7. Make A Plan! If your team doesn't have a plan then they don't have a rush! Talk with the dead before a new round and fill in the players that miss the plan when you start the next round. I go to my console and do something like:
    bind f5 "say_team RUSH BOMB A"
When the new round starts I hit f5 a few times to get the message across,
  8. I Repeat DO NOT STOP! Not in a hallway; not in a doorway; not to wait for the slow players; not to reload because you wasted your ammo; not to give someone else the bomb; not to bust out you Arctic Warfare Magnum; and especially not to get there faster.

Tactics

Power Rush

This player configuration is probably the most stable formation for a large rush. As you rush in, the rifles up front will immediately damage
the enemies. Now that the enemy player's health's have been lowered the SMG players
can now spray the area and finish off the damaged enemies. Get your sniper to a safe position and leave a SMG player and a Pistol player with him for cover.

Poor Man's Rush

With only one Rifle player in this configuration the main task is staying close together. The 3 players up front are all that are required. They need to fire at anything that moves and when they do it needs to be like one big gun with lots of bullets! The extra SMG player (between the pistol players) is backup for when one of the front 3 players die. Don't forget to upgrade your gun as your team members die.

6 Player StackUP!

This might look and sound ridiculous, but it works well! Just imagine how the CT's feel when they get to the hallway and realize that it is too late to run.

The important things to remember are that the Rifle players are to be STANDING on the heads of the DUCKING smg players. If your rifle players duck then the enemy will be more likely to kill one of them, because their heads will be at the normal headshot level.

It is also important for the left players to attack the leftmost enemies and the right players attack the rightmost enemies.

The center player on top should help out on the right side and the center player on bottom should help the left side if they know the middle is clear.

When using this formation either do it up against a wall or just be sure that the enemy isn't going to be showing up behind you too soon.

A Wide Rush

This player configuration is optimal for a wide hallway or canal. The important thing here is that your players are against a wall in case of a surprise attack and just plain because its safer.

With the weakest or most useless player in front as a 'scout' your team will know when the enemy is ahead. Snipers in back for range and Rifles in front for force will help to protect the smg players that will be providing the 'rain of bullets' to ensure that the enemies die from the Rifle wounds.

Its always smarter to split your team when rushing a wide area, because in the event of a surprise attack you enemy wont know who to shoot at and will be less probable to kill one of your team members.

Gladiator Style

Ever seen Gladiator? Rent it! This player configuration will ensure cover from all sides. This is useful when your team is pinned in a hallway or when they are outnumbered. Be sure to stay out of easily sniped areas, and try to fire like one big gun at anything that moves.
